Follow the recommended staging, proof-mode review, and departmental sign-off to minimize data-integrity risk and speed recovery if records are removed in error.
Why Purging the Address Book Matters
Purging the Address Book in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE) is one of the most frequently ignored purge processes. It is also one of the most complicated.
The Address Book table, F0101, is one of the most important tables in the system. Some would even say it is the most important table. The reason is its primary field, Address Number (AN8).
The Address Number connects the Address Book to numerous associated Address Book tables, including:
• Who's Who
• Address by Date
• Phone
• Electronic Address
More importantly, the Address Number is also used throughout master tables, transactional tables, ledgers, balances, batch and purge tables, and historical tables.
There are over 1,000 tables containing the Address Number (AN8). With 5,000 plus tables in the E920 schema, somewhere around 24% of the tables contain the Address Number.
Needless to say, the Address Book is deeply intertwined with JDE and makes cleaning up Address Book data a significant undertaking.
