What makes Purge-it! unique?
Purge-it! differs to other data archiving products in the JD Edwards marketplace, because it's a programmed solution. Purge-it! is the only data archiving product developed specifically for and within JD Edwards. This makes it easy to learn and implement in comparison to a generic tool.
Being developed within JD Edwards enables Purge-it! to be a solution that is more than a tool that fronts an SQL style database script. Instead it supports the entire archive project lifecycle.

Modules
Purge-it! has Standard Modules for the main JD Edwards areas with typically the largest amount of data (see Purge-it! Modules Tab). These are incredibly easy to set up and run, and are the core of the solution.
For tables that fall outside of our standard modules we have our Custom Module which allows you to target any table in your JD Edwards system using simple or complex selection and validation criteria.

The Engine
At the heart of Purge-it! is the archiving functionality. Each Standard Module provides the following features:
- Flexible data selection
- Processing is performed at a transaction level, and not at a table level (ie. when processing Sales Orders, all data across all tables is processed for a sales order before progressing to the next order). Why is this important? Because if you stop a job halfway through, you have no part archived orders / tables!
- All data is validated and an audit produced of all exceptions, allowing you to understand any integrity issues that may affect your archiving activities (unique to Purge-it! feature)
- Commitment control is used to protect data boundaries
- All archived data is fully reversible at either a transaction or job level
- A full audit history is maintained and all information is available post archive through Session Dashboards
- Every Module is processed with a single job that selects, validates, summarizes (where applicable) archives, and purges data. No multiple stage jobs are necessary.

Flexible Archiving
Purge-it! uniquely allows you to choose the approach that meets your business needs: It supports both ‘simple’ and ‘advanced’ archiving.
How is this possible?
Because Purge-it! does not insist that archive tables have the same name as standard JD Edwards tables. This means archive data can co-exist with your live data within the production environment whilst still being in a different database.
However, Purge-it! still supports the use of standard JDE table names for the archive data and subsequently a separate archive environment.
JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne
The archiving software, Purge-it! has been specifically designed to work on JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne.
Purge-it! is currently available at all supported releases of JD Edwards and has been through the Oracle Validated Integration process.
