Purge-it! Release 5.1
Purge-it! delivers integrated archiving for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and World. Release 5.1 of Purge-it! provides extended support for JD Edwards Media Objects.
Release 22 of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne allows for attachments (Media Objects) to be stored in the database rather than a network location.
The ability to store Media Objects in the JDE ERP database is a much better solution than storing them on a network location.
However, if you have a large number of attachments, this could have a significant impact on database size, with obvious performance and size issues. If you are cloud hosted, this will have a knock-on effect on costs.
Traditionally, archiving JD Edwards data would leave the media object orphaned. This makes it difficult to determine what the media object is attached to, due to the composite key. Thousands of orphaned media objects can represent a lot of wasted money and zero business benefit.
Purge-it! release 5.1 includes extended support for Media Objects which allows users to:
- Archive media objects whilst maintaining their connection to the original message
- Archive (and if appropriate purge) media objects that are no longer required
- View Media Object attachments from the Purge-it! Archive Applications in the organization’s Production environment.
