New functionality in Version 5.2
Based on customer feedback and learnings from the JD Edwards community, we’ve addressed full data lifecycle management (DLM) for JDE EnterpriseOne data in Version 5.2. This new functionality allows users to better and more easily manage archive data that has passed its useful life and needs to be permanently removed.
Changing trends in how old historic data is used and retained have lead us to introduce ‘archive to grave’ functionality. This final step in DLM gives JD Edwards users the option to archive or purge the archive data.
New functionality enables JD Edwards users to set up a tiered system, to manage data according to their chosen retention dates.
In a three tiered process, a JD Edwards user could retain three years of data plus the current year in their production system. A further seven years can be kept in their archive (a total of 10 years data). All data older than 10 years can be set in the JD Edwards scheduler to be automatically purged from the system.
Terry Clarke, CEO explains, “with the latest release of Purge-it software, we’re addressing the requirement to ultimately dispose of data. As with all new functionality in Purge-it, we focus on an improved and simplified user experience. Version 5.2 brings a simplified approach to the final stage of Data Lifecycle Management within Purge-it standard modules.”
