J.F. Shea, Inc. Case Study
Project background:
- In 2006, to prepare for upgrading to E1, J.F. Shea embarked on a project to consolidate all JDE environments into 1 instance and create data consistency going forward.
- J.F. Shea had been looking for an end-to-end archiving solution to tackle all JD Edwards data, including Homebuilder data
Next steps:
- Find a flexible product that's straightforward to use
- Ensure users can easily access archive data
- Choose a solution that can handle Homebuilder data
Results of the archiving project:
- Users experienced a 30% improvement in system performance from archiving the Homebuilder data
- A 90% reduction in the quantity of data in the Community Master was recorded
- A total of 60 million records from a possible 52 tables were archived

Project background:
- Problems maintaining some indexes due to amount of data in some key tables
- Preparing for a JDE upgrade
- In a hosted environment, the company felt they were paying for premium storage and replication of data they weren't using
